The Chinese Treasures CD has been beneficial in my personal devotional times and discipleship by providing access to scripture, search tools and valuable books and articles. The CD has also equipped me to be able to effectively print God’s Word in Chinese. I believe this CD is good for both believers and non-believers to read God's word. Delivering Bibles is still restricted in China. The permission to print and distribute Bibles is granted only to the government controlled public church and the allowed amount is far below the requirement. Since the computer is new very popular in cities and among intellectuals, I am confident that the CD will be welcomed. And it is much lighter and far more easy to duplicate than a printed Bible. Actually my brother in Beijing even asked me to find a digital Bible for him last year. In one simple CD there is a true wealth of excellent biblical material which could greatly benefit both young believers with a hunger to learn more and pastors and preachers be they in registered churches or in non-registered groups….

I find the Chinese Treasures CD extremely helpful personally in preparing my Chinese sermons both in pulling in the Scripture (rather than re-typing it each time) and in searching for and using other biblical and topical materials. Even yesterday I as I was preparing for this coming Sunday (when I am due to be preaching in a Chinese Church in Auckland) the CD was tremendously helpful.

Our colleagues in Hong Kong and China are eager to help share the excellent resources gathered by the Digital Bible Society and we are hoping to make the CDs available through our associates and local colleagues working in various parts of the nation. In New Zealand, there are some 40,000 students and recent immigrants from China and most of these are in the Auckland area. I am in touch with many Chinese churches. Just this month we have a major outreach with the well known Yuan Zhi-ming and over 30 Chinese churches are working together for this. I am confident that many of the 30 Chinese working in Auckland will be wanting to use the DBS materials both in their own ministries here and in sending through their contacts back to China.

I know that colleagues in Hong Kong are only just beginning to copy and pass out the CD to associates who are interested to use them. I have no doubt once they are introduced to the CD and once they in turn introduce it to their Chinese colleagues (in many cases key young believers) that they will be totally sold on it.

Thank you for the Chinese Treasures CD. It is wonderful to have three different Chinese translations for comparison in Bible study. The commentaries, even though antiqued, are helpful and the sermon outlines serve as very good talk points when leading a small group.

What I have discovered in my 14 trips to China is that the printed Bible is difficult to carry in and distribute in quantity. Software, however, was always welcomed by the young and the old and regardless of which city we traveled to, someone always had access to a computer and copying equipment. Seeing that the Church in China has seen an explosive growth among young people, the CD is very attractive as many young people are computer literate. Also, many workers in the house movement could not take time off of work to attend seminaries (most of which are run by the Dept of Religious Affairs). The Chinese Treasures CD allows the workers to study on their own time in the privacy of their own environs….
